Echota

Foscoe Area
The lovely community of Foscoe is located between Boone and Seven Devil's. Multiple shops dot the main highway, NC 105, selling just about everything from fishing equipment and antiques to local fruits and vegetables. Historically, the East Tennessee and Western North Carolina Railroad (Nicknamed "Tweetsie") passed through the area. In 1956, North Carolina Highway 105 was built over the original rail bed through the area tying together Boone, Banner Elk and Linville. This cozy little area is booming thanks to year-round tourism to nearby attractions, Grandfather Mountain, the Blue Ridge Parkway and several ski and snow tubing resorts to a name a few.
Seven Devil's
Seven Devil's is a beautiful, small mountain town. Some of the most magnificent views in the mountains are available here and opportunities for recreation abound. The views of Grandfather Mountain are unsurpassed and additionally many areas in this small town afford the onlooker views of Beech Mountain, Sugar Mountain, and Rich Mountain. Even those properties without long range mountain views have beautiful wildlife, flora, and fauna. The entire area is a recreation haven without leaving the mountain with Hawksnest snow tubing and zip line, hiking, tennis, playground with basketball goal, and walking routes. Aside from Hawksnest, the only visible commercial activity is the Town Hall and the Seven Devi's Resort Club (only available to owners). Boone, Banner Elk, Valle Crucis, and Blowing are only minutes away for shopping and dining. So, come enjoy nature in one of these vacation homes located in Seven Devil's.
Valle Crucis
Valle Crucis is NC’s first rural historic
district and the entire community is officially listed on the National Register
of Historic Places. The rustic countryside provides ample opportunities for
recreational activities. Guests can be found enjoying the amenities at the
riverfront community park, with multiple children’s playgrounds, athletic
fields, picnic areas, and a walking/running trail around it border. Guests also
enjoy hiking the area, fishing the Watauga River and much more. The quaint
valley also hosts the famous Mast General Store and Candy Barrel.
