The water is so bad that we resorted to buying bottles. We are not fans of creating more landfill junk, but it tasted awful. In years past, it was so good we bragged about it! We were disappointed and annoyed at having add that item to our shopping list. We didn't realize how much water we used. We are considering buying a water filter to attach to the kitchen faucet. We use one at home and it makes a big difference.

Not having access to the pool for the last half of our visit was very hard for Jim

tHE PLACE WAS VERY NICE. oUR GRANDKIDS REALLY ENJOYED HAVING THE 2ND FLOOR TO THEMSELVES AND OUR DAUGHTER A SPACE TO HERSELF IN THE BASEMENT THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH THE DOWNSTAIRS WAS IT WAS OVERHEATED, CURIOUS IN THAT HEAT RISES! tHE DECOR WAS FINE EXCEPT THERE WERE TCHOTCHIES ON EVERY FLAT SURFACE, TOO MUCH, AND THE KITCHEN COULD HAVE USED SOME CASSEROLE DISHES, BUT THOSE ARE SMALL ISSUES AND DIDN"T MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN OUR ENJOYMENT OF THE RICHLANDS

I couldn't find either a baking sheet or muffin pan in the kitchen and needed these items to make breakfast. Everything else was good though!
The living room furniture really is not very comfortable after a long day of hiking...I recommend replacing.
Loved both pools - the outdoor pool is amazing!

Beautiful and very comfortable. Well stocked. Convenient. Only complaint was a mouse nest in the downstairs couch. My sister was unable to stay with us for that weekend

The primary bed needs to be replaced. It's worn out. Everything else was exceptional. The way Foscoe handled the snow situation was outstanding.

The place was beautiful. I would stay there again. The sink does need to be silicone down to the counter top and you need to power wash the deck and fix a few deck boards that are rotting (just thought you should know).

We have spent part of the Summer in the Boone/Blowing Rock area for several years. We have rented homes, condos in Chetola, and a cabin in Yonaloosee, but our stay in Echota topped them all. Our home was beautiful and very easy to get to. One of the highlights was having a pool and a club house within walking distance. We made lots of use of the free library in the club house and the books that were available in our rental house. From the moment we arrived, Chris and Monica made us feel welcome and wer

Great property. Would recommend adding a bbq grill and getting the heat in the master bedroom to work better. It was pretty cold every night. Several electrical outlets don't work and one set of blinds in the master bedroom wouldn't close.

We rented the Richlands for my son's graduation. The home was beautiful. The location was awesome. My only complaint would be the couch/sleeper sofa in the basement was very uncomfortable. The home was listed as sleeping 8 but no one could sleep on the sofa.

Great weekend as always - our third year renting this property. This time, however, there was a huge difference in temperature on the different levels. The upstairs was extremely hot and the basement was extremely cold. Upon packing up on Sunday am to leave, I did discover that all the vents were shut in the basement (just wished I would have discovered that earlier in the weekend.

Other than that - it was exactly as we have found it each year. Fully stocked kitchen, plenty of towels and a quiet com

This property was exceptional! Private without being isolated in a beautiful setting. The furnishings were lovely and well maintained. The mattress in the master bedroom probably needs replacing but that was the only disappointment we had. We would absolutely consider coming back but would bring family or friends since it was so spacious. Staff at Foscoe was helpful and everything was very clean. Thanks for a great vacation.

The gas logs would never light. We followed instructions but could never get pilot light lit. Disappointing on such a perfect time of year for a fire.

The house was very nice and our stay was very enjoyable. A few glitches though: The fireplace wouldn't light; a couple of light bulbs were burned out and the tv channel listing in your notebook had every channel the the cable company offered making it difficult to know what service we had.

The kitchen does not have a lot of equipment that I would like in a kitchen . . . .very, very basic. Also, it would be nice to have summer weight blankets for all the beds. I find the heavy quilts too hot in the summer. Also noted that more maintenance housekeeping had been done, like blinds cleaned, and cold air returns were better maintained. But, we love this house.

A poorly equipped kitchen to do much of any kind of cooking. I bring many of my own things, some because I prefer them, and some because they just are not there.
I feel that major cleaning is not done .. .such as washing windows, vacuming, cleaning return air vents, blinds and etc. Not just the surface cleaning. Obviously, we like the house or we would not be returning next year to this house for the 6th time.

There is a little too much furniture, a little crowded. Also, the kitchen is a little space on basic utensils, eg, no ice cream scoop, no large serving spoons. Otherwise great!
