If you are looking for winter sports there are several different options from Hawksnest Snow Tubing, Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, Beech Mountain Ski Resort, and Appalachian Ski Resort. Had an issue where there was some dog urine left by previous guests in the carpet and rugs, but with a pet friendly rental that thing will happen. My girlfriend has a sever allergic reaction to dog urine so it needed to be cleaned. I did notice some dirt and dust under the rugs when I went to clean the floors as if they were just never moved. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your cabin while our family was misplaced due to Hurricane Helene. The cabin is perfect. We enjoyed mornings drinking coffee in front of the cozy fireplace, dining with the rushing creek and waterfalls behind us, and evenings roasting smore's and playing in the yard. We even used the hot tubs a couple of evenings to relax! THANK YOU!

The cabin needs a new mattress on the king bed in the downstairs bedroom. Also, it would be wonderful to have a generator for when the power goes out. The pump doesn't work when there is no power so therefore there is no water. We were without water for almost two days ....we just had to leave.
It would also be nice to have the sofas replaced in the family room. They are in terrible shape.
On a positive note, the new hot tub and table and chairs on the deck were awesome! Thank you!

Well appointed home with comfortable beds and surroundings. We enjoyed out time there. Had construction workers not been working all day and until it became dark with hammering and sawing on the other side of the creek, it would have been outstanding. Anything you can do to get them to stop working on Saturday or Sunday, especially in the evening would be nice.

Very nice cabin, very clean and pet friendly. Has a great view of the stream and waterfall below. Also has a small view of the mountains across the highway. Everything you would expect in a mountain cabin. The only downfall is the driveway, no fault of the owners. You really need an all wheel drive vehicle to get up the driveway. The gravel is loose and it's a little steep. Overall, a great place to stay.

2. There is a dual Carafe and Keurig coffee maker at the unit. I thought there was only a regular coffee maker. If I knew there is Keurig then I would bring Keurig coffee with me which would be so much nicer because I am the only one drink coffee.
3. There are bugs in the cabin. I developed a rash and not sure what caused it.

The downstairs bathroom window shade a small lamp shade in the bedroom were broken. It would be helpful to have a few more lamps or light structures. The light in the kitchen and the dining room was SO blindingly bright. Also, on the last morning, there were spiders in the bathroom. The driveway to this rental unit was nearly impossible to navigate due to huge ruts and rainwater washing. It is impassable in a car. If we had not drove a truck, we would have been in trouble. This was such a huge problem, that we would not rent from this company again.

This property was great - clean, excellent amenities with the creek and fireplace. We had difficulty in reaching the office by phone several times, which was frustrating. Another frustration involved the security deposit/damage insurance. We have rented many, many times all over the United States through VRBO and never encountered a situation where a damage deposit would be that high and held that long before refunding it. The setting for this cabin is lovely. The sound of the creek is so relaxing and the decks are a great place to sit. The cabin is rustic, but very comfortable. Foscoe Rentals do a wonderful job of taking care of your needs. They kept us supplied with plenty of firewood, and the hot tub is serviced weekly. Having dry firewood would have been nice, so we could've used the fireplace. Also, being able to load and start dishwasher on our way out, and not having to put away the dishes would be very helpful! The photos were misleading - as they made it appear the creek was easily assessible and no other homes were around...and that wasn't the case.

The hot tub was open when we arrived - about 9pm on Friday. It was really really cold.
The king bed downstairs had definite divits where people obviously sleep - I almost rolled out of bed going down one of the divits.
But overall - we LOVED it and will be back again. The lower deck was such a cool feature - we drank our morning coffee down there listening to the stream.

The kitchen has most things you need. The oven does not work properly - could not get temperature up to set level - the thermostat does not seem to always work.
There is adequate parking however lower level of the driveway has some significant depressions (potholes) and is steep. There is a danger of hitting the holes with the wheels turned and potentially damaging the steering system.

The cabin was very nice, the owners were kind enough to add to the paltry supply of flatware and wine glasses. We assume the bed linens are rented from a service. They were threadbare and too short for the mattress depths but were replaced with more adequate size sheets. Both bedspreads were dirty, as were the placemats. we washed them all. We were somewhat disappointed in the outside furniture - I had to repair the picnic table to use it, there were only two rockers for front and back porch plus the high top chairs which weren't conducive to comfortable relaxing. The kitchen was great except it not having paper towels, and I understand having a budget because I run my own business as well. However, normally amenities such as paper towels and toilet paper were not there at all, or severely limited. Also, the washcloths and towels were great IF we would have had laundry detergent to wash them with. We searched high and low and could not find any detergent anywhere.

The only issue we had was that there are so many lights - both interior and exterior - and so many switches - we couldn't tell what switch worked what light! And a few of the exterior light bulbs were burned out. We were able to change them because there were new ones in the kitchen. We arrived at night and it was dark.

this property was well suited for my family of 8. The bunk mattresses were a bit thin. My older son chose to sleep on the couch rather than in the bunk. Both of the King beds were great. The mounted animals were not really to our taste but that was not a detractor to the cabin. However, the large deer did have spider webs on the antlers and we were a little concerned - esp with small children along - when we found the mice traps around the cabin. We enjoyed the pet-friendly cabin, although I would caution the D-con left out to control the mice and rats. Our dogs are well behaved and don't sniff around, but smaller dogs could easily have gotten into the pellets that were simply placed behind furniture. It's not a problem for me, but I can see where it might cause an issue for somebody who doesn't know how to control their pet.

We called in a repair request for an issue in the downstairs bathroom. The handle of the toilet broke Saturday evening. Rather than call an after hours emergency number we decided to wait until Sunday morning to call. We were asked to wait until Monday to have the repair, but then no one came until Tuesday. I believe the owners need to know that it took Foscoe Rentals 3 days to respond to a repair at their property.

While we enjoyed being right on the rushing stream, we had difficulty negotiating a portion of the drive up to the cabin. There were very deep ruts in the drive that were filled with large rip rap type rocks, so unless you are driving a vehicle with a high profile, you have to skirt the edge of the drive and brush up against the trees and bushes. Adding gravel and removing the larger rocks would solve the problem. Also, we could not open the oven door so unable to use for baking.

Valley Creek is a wonderful mountain cabin, our family of 5 enjoyed everything about it! Beautiful rapid creek just outside the back door, hot tub every night, level lot for kids to play on and comfortable sleeping accommodations. We would stay here again!

They need more lighting in the great room. One lamp for that large area is not enough. Difficult to read.

It would have been nice if the lamps that were there had working
lightbulbs in them. We are not so big on overhead lighting so a couple more lamps in the living area would be a nice touch.

The Valley Creek cabin exceeded our expectations in every way. The cabin is located conveniently off of the highway, just far enough away to feel secluded. The creek behind the cabin was an adventureland for our two sons. We enjoyed the warm wood-burning fireplace each evening. The kitchen was well-equipped and the beds were quite comfortable. This is through no fault of the rental company or the property itself, since it was included in the description of the cabin, but we happened to rent on a weekend that was unusually hot, and the cabin didn't have air conditioning! However, it was a beautiful cabin and LOVED hearing the creek when we went to sleep at night. There was a great breeze on the back deck and we enjoyed the peaceful view. We'd like to rent again, when it's a little cooler (possible for Thanksgiving)! Thank you so much

My family and I loved the property and really enjoyed our stay. We have a 10 year old and a 2 year old and we definitely felt comfortable with it being kid friendly.

I contacted after hours service for this issue and was told that hottubs are not considered an emergency repair...a service man came the next day while we were not home. I had no idea anyone was there, no note left or voicemail on the cell phone we gave to the office. When we arrived back at the cabin later that day, the unit was still not working. I called the office again and maintenance came out. After 2nd attempt to fix the unit,and repeat reset of breaker, unit kept tripping. We were not able to use th
