Location: This log cabin is located in the heart of Banner Elk, just minutes from Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, and only 10-15 minutes to Boone and Valle Crucis and approximately 30 minutes to Blowing Rock. The convenient location makes it just minutes away from all the High Country’s most famous attractions such as the Blue Ridge Parkway, Tweetsie Railroad, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls and Caverns, and Appalachian State University. If you are looking for winter sports there are several different options from Hawksnest Snow Tubing, Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, Beech Mountain Ski Resort, and Appalachian Ski Resort. Relax and enjoy the slow pace of the mountains and the fresh air or be adventurous and go hiking, fishing, biking, or sight-seeing. Some other things people enjoy are shopping, antiquing, skiing, golfing and miniature golfing, ziplining, go-karts, and gem mining.

Garbage shouldn't be the responsibility of the guest. Large containers should be available for use at the site with a weekly pickup. Other places we've stayed at in the area provided enclosed bear proof enclosures. We've never encountered a trash fee. Couple of sauce pans would be nice. There were plenty of large pots(3) but no sauce pans.
Other than that we really enjoyed our time in the rental.
I had to tighten the screws on the front door knob. (front porch) They were very loose, but all is good now.

The downstairs bed was extremely comfortable!
The road leading into the property is in pretty bad shape. Not sure who maintains that road.
It was just the right size house for the two of us. We enjoyed our stay.
