Very well-appointed and comfortable for our group of seven. Centrally located for our fun destinations. View of Grandfather Mt from outside porch was great. Fireplace made for a very cozy living room where we enjoyed coffee and cocktails. (Also enjoyed these on the deck.) Dining table accommodated us comfortably for meals and card games. Great together space and plenty of places to get a quiet break for reading and relaxing.

I selected Grandfather because of the lovely seating area on the deck. We had coffee and wine there- bonus view of Grandfather mountain. The house was so well stocked, the appliances so modern it took us awhile to figure out the range.

We had a great time. This is such a nice central location for our plans between Boone, Blowing Rock and friends' houses.
This duplex home is very nicely laid out and we would definitely reserve this unit again. The beds were very comfortable and the appliances were nice.
The upholstered furniture could use some updating and for some reason all of the lamps were unplugged or did not have light bulbs. One of the coffee pots did not work so we put it aside with a note.

The townhome was beautiful and very well maintained. However, we had major issues with stink bugs throughout our stay. This was way beyond a bug here and there. We removed 30-40 of them over the course of our stay and plenty more were on the ceiling where we couldn't reach. They were in all rooms (even the upstairs bath and bedrooms!), but especially bad on the main floor. I know stink bugs are a nuisance in the fall, but the sheer volume of them made for a very unpleasant stay. There is a clearly a spot w

We loved this property, the Echota community and the central location. It was perfect for our two families to enjoy. Our only suggestion for improvement would be a few more tools in the kitchen. There were no liquid measuring cups - we assume they may have been broken by a previous renter, but that created a bit of a challenge cooking for 7.

We love Echota--wish we had purchased property back when we could! This year, we truly enjoyed our stay at The Grandfather. This house has a convenient location and decent parking (including a parking garage), a nice floor plan for our needs, and was clean and well-stocked, for the most part.
We spent much of our time on the upper covered deck, appreciating the beautiful surroundings, but I strongly recommend replacing or re-stuffing the cushions, which are sadly flat--had to stack them all to provide eno

The box springs of the bed in the lower level need to be replaced. The slightest movement created annoying noise. We had to put the mattress on the floor to get some sleep.

We couldn't find the owners manual for the very sophisticated stove. The surface units only work with some of the pots and pans. It must be a sensor issue that only detects pot/pans of a certain metallic??? composition. It finally did the basics once we figured it out.

We liked the condo tremendously. These are just a few things that need attention:
1. The tubs drain slowly when using the shower. The drains might need cleaning.
2. The DVD player didn't work in the living room. We tried multiple times to get it working.
3. Parking is inadequate for the size of the place. We had 4 couples and 4 cars and could barely fit since the neighboring unit was occupied.

We loved the property and all amenities. The only thing i would recommend is to possibly upgrade the TVs as we could not get the VCRs to work and none were HDMI capable. The carpet is due to be cleaned as several pet spots were noted near the entrance and stairway. Otherwise it was perfect! Enjoyed our stay!

Two issues- 1. The bottom level of this property smells moldy and made my daughter ill when she tried to sleep there the first night. She was fine after relocating to the upper level bedroom. 2. The next door neighbor parked his jeep in such a way that it was extremely difficult to get in and out of the driveway. He was extremely inconsiderate.

We love staying here and have stayed at Echota several times, mostly at this property since we can bring our dogs. It's like being at home only with a great view and cool mountain air. Love the updates to The Grandfather this year, but miss the leather sofa and Bob Timberlake. We absolutely love the pool and facilities on the ridge.
We did have an issue with wasps inside the first couple days, however we called the office and they must have been taken care of because we didn't see anymore the next day.

We enjoyed our stay at the property.The kitchen could be reorganized and perhaps a new everyday dish set. Master bedroom mattress should be addressed. We were in town for my daughter's wedding and this place was just amazing. From the breathtaking views, to the beautiful townhouse and had the perfect layout for all of us to enjoy our stay. When our brother-in-law stopped by and saw the townhouse and its beautiful views, the next day he checked out of his hotel and they also rented at Echota. They stayed at Echota on the Ridge. The townhome was wonderful..our family loved being together for Christmas and it was a perfect place....except...the blow up bed situation. We were disappointed that the place represented a sofa bed and did not have it. It was a pain having to take it down every night for the 4 nights that we had the 10 of us there. However we managed.
