This property was wonderful!! We will stay here again :)

The only suggestion that I have, as a visitor, is about the indoor pool. It would be great to have the "lap swim" hours posted so that guests can know when to visit and when to not visit. It seemed like daily people were showing up and deciding it was lap swim and telling us that we had to get out of the pool. I am all about sharing, but it seems like the rude comments were not necessary if there were times set aside for lap swim.

Thanks f

Parking was really the only issue we came across with this property. While it was clearly noted that we had 2 parking places in front of the cabin, there was snow covering the area and it was very hard to tell what parking was for our cabin and the cabin next to us. We attempted to get clarification by calling guest services and talking with the neighboring cabin, but it was unsuccessful. A clearly defined parking zone for the two cabins side by side is needed for clarification.

The cabin was very cle

The bunkbed in the top floor bedroom was missing hardware for the top bunk railing. However, for us it wasn't a huge issue as we brought a couple blow up mattresses. Just an FYI for others who may need that sleeping space.

Overall the property was wonderful and this certainly did not affect our trip in any significant way. The house was beautiful and well maintained. We would absolutely stay there again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cliffsider. The house is spacious, well-equipped, nicely decorated, and clean. The bed in the master bedroom ranked as one of the firmest, most comfortable we've ever encountered, and other furnishings are also comfortable. The view from the top deck, especially at night, is spectacular, and this deck has a nice covered area with a table for eating/enjoying the outdoors. The lower, covered deck also provides a wonderful alternative for rainy days. We enjoyed walking around

Wonderful time at this location during the 2020 pandemic. Missed some attractions but the NC mountains are a favorite destination for our family.

It would be nice to have a stairway from one street to the next (i.e. Settlers Rest and Emerald Ridge) to make it easier to visit other units. Everything was awesome. We plan on coming back again!!

Probably need some form of security riding through at least once an hour or so. The house right next door to us had loud commotions going on up until about 3:30 in the morning on Friday and Saturday night and we could not sleep well because they were so loud. They had folks coming at 1 and 2 in the morning, blowing the horns, parking behind our cars and up at the house beside us where all the ruckus was going on. We called the police the 2nd night as they were so loud and coming and going. This has no refle

Since there was snow on the ground, it was difficult to tell where our parking spot should be. My husband shoveled out a space, but since there was a sign on the refrigerator saying to be careful not to block the drive we wanted to be careful not to block our neighbors in or out. It was a bit difficult at first to know just where the parking spot was, but we figured it out.

The downstairs rec room was freezing to the point that my son was not able to sleep there. Thankfully we had the bunk bed in the loft. It would be a great idea to add a space heater for that room!

The cabin was great. The only problem was the bottom floor was ice cold. We made sure the vents were open, but it never did get warm. One person slept down there and didn't mind the cold.We had 10 ladies for a mini reunion and loved the large table so we could all sit together. It was great. Thanks

The parking was a little tight and I was nervous about parking on such a hill. Also, the description of the Cliffsider calls it a 4 bedroom, but the 4th bedroom is a sleeper sofa in a family room. That is misleading because the description also says there is a family room with a sleeper sofa, so I assumed these were separate spaces. It worked out fine since my brother in law had to back out at the last minute...but I still think the description could be clearer.

I wrote several maintenance issues on my check out envelope. Also, the basement level is a great addition but listing it as a bedroom is misleading since it only has a pullout couch.

Only slight complaint was the single thermostat. We turned the fireplace for a short while and did not close the door to the upper bedroom. It was a big difference in temp. We had to cover the heating vent in the upper room in order to keep the lower rooms warm. Otherwise, wonderful home.

The property had been made ready for our arrival. However, the house really needed a good, deep cleaning. The floors in kitchen and living area were dirty - when wiped with a wet towel, the towel came away black. The stair railings and wood was very dusty. There were lots of dusty areas (bed posts, bookshelves) and there were cobwebs inside the house. Also, there was a dead mouse down by the hot water heater and a new living mouse that left trails underneath the kitchen sink.

The unit was not properly cleaned when we arrived. After a call on Sunday morning the problem were corrected. This unit needs a better heating system---too cold in the basement and extremely hot in the loft and other bedrooms at night. Several of the pots and pans need replacing. The furniture is lovely and very comfortable---would be nice to have a TV in the front bedroom.
