This 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom mountain house is just the place for a weekend get-away, a winter skiing, ice skating, or tubing trip (5 minutes away from Hawksnest Tubing), or an extended summer stay to enjoy North Carolina's High Country's cool mountain breezes. Don't forget the fall. See magnificent views of the fall foliage from a bird's eye view and enjoy all the local autumn festivals and music. You will love the bright, openness of the large living room with vaulted ceilings, wood floors, gas burning fireplace, spacious dining area, and inviting, well-stocked kitchen. Other amenities include cable TV, high-speed wireless Internet access, whirlpool tub, washer, dryer, central air/heat and gas grill. There are numerous ways to relax. You'll fall in love with the views and comforts of this home.

Location: This cabin is located in quaint Seven Devils, on the same mountain as Hawksnest Snow Tubing and Ziplining, and centrally located to Boone, Banner Elk, Valle Crucis and Blowing Rock in the Foscoe area. The Seven Devils community offers public basketball and tennis courts along with a children's playground. The convenient location makes it just minutes away from all the High Country’s most famous attractions such as the Blue Ridge Parkway, Tweetsie Railroad, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls and Caverns, and Appalachian State University. If you are looking for winter sports there are several different options from Hawksnest Snow Tubing, Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, Beech Mountain Ski Resort, and Appalachian Ski Resort. Relax and enjoy the slow pace of the mountains and the fresh air or be adventurous and go hiking, fishing, biking, or sight-seeing. Some other things people enjoy are shopping, antiquing, skiing, golfing and miniature golfing, ziplining, go-karts, and gem mining.

This property was exactly what we had hoped for on the inside and the mt view was wonderful!.
The exterior needs some TLC
Decking is in need of attention.
Landscaping on street side is in need of attention.
Dead plants , branches lying around
Siding needs power washing. Gutters are missing, downspouts hanging from house corners

The property was exactly as shown on website. The location was perfect for us, and I needed something accessible for a walker and your information about accessibility was fabulous. It was sparkling clean and well maintained. I love that you have so many pet free properties as I have severe allergies and it's hard now to find safe places to stay. Your office staff were super friendly and kind in all of my interactions.
Beds were a bit soft for us, but we prefer very firm beds.

The service from Chris & Heather from FR was superb.
Some minor owner maintenance suggestions:
-several of the windows would not stay open and had to be propped open with books
-the driveway should be re-paved
-the vertical support beams for the back deck have deep cracks and should be checked
-the TV was difficult to use because it was not cable TV - more specific instructions would be helpful although we figured out the

We had a great stay and such a cute place.
However, I want to give you feedback. The bathtub was dirty, the sheets were NOT washed. When we pulled the sheets back, there were long black hairs and dirt at the bottom. (I am blonde and my husband is bald)
The dishes were definitely not clean.
Besides that, we did enjoy our stay.

We enjoyed out stay at Birds Nest. The house was very clean and had everything you might need for a comfortable stay. The description and pictures were very accurate, and the registration and check out processes were smooth. The views from the house are amazing! Snow slopes and a tubing facility were in close proximity. The only thing I would suggest to the management is to text/email the code to the door upon arrival instead of making people go all the way to the office. Also, it is imperative to have snow

The house was very nice: clean, nice view, spacious for two guests. However, we were disappointed that the hot tub was inoperable. It was one of the reasons that we chose this property. Nothing was mentioned in the posting when we selected the property, and the check-in instructions included directions (even highlighted) for operating the hot tub. However, the on-site instructions had a notice on the page for the hot tub instructions which said that it was inoperable, and upon inspection, we saw that it was

We had a wonderful week at Berg Haus celebrating my husband's birthday and New Year's Eve. Finding a pet friendly rental can be difficult so we were so happy to have found this house and it was even better than we imagined. The frigid temps caused us to stay in more than we anticipated but the house was so warm, comfy, beautiful views and well stocked that we didn't mind at all!

We really enjoyed our stay! It was me and my family's first time staying in the mountains and it was a trip we will never forget! The house was so comfortable and homey and had everything we needed and more! We ate most of our meals in and the kitchen was fully stocked, all we had to do was grocery shop! We will definitely be back! And I hope very soon!!

The house had a foul odor of maybe burnt cabbage upon entering the house, seemed to come from the kitchen area. The mattresses were not comfortable at all. The bedding especially the pillows need to be laundered or replaced.

It was a quaint house, but a couple things could take it over the top. The hot tub was mediocre. This was unfortunate as it was a deciding face or for us. It didn't get above 95 degrees all weekend, which is cooler than we're accustomed. The beds were alright, but a featherbed would make them awesome.

The hot tub wasn't heating. Mike w/ maintenance came right after we called and was very professional. He reset the hot tub and showed me what to do in case it happened again. We left for the day and it apparently heated for a little while and cut off again. I kept having to reset it but it wouldn't get hot. Never was able to use it which was disappointing but we had a great trip overall.

Guest shower has a very slippery floor. Shower head in guest bath is in poor condition and need replaced.
We locked ourselves and a neighbor called the after hours number and left a message. No one was available to help at that time. The next morning a Foscoe employee called and told us that the emergency number was on the refrigerator (great help if you are locked out)and that the number was on the packet we were given when we checked
