Description: Welcome to Bear Dean, a charming 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom log cabin nestled in Seven Devils. Unwind by the crackling wood-burning fireplace or engage in friendly competition at the pool table, ensuring delightful evenings indoors. The fully equipped kitchen provides the necessities to prepare a meal or, if preferred, cook outside on the grill. The main floor features the kitchen, living room, recreation room with pool table, primary bedroom, and bathroom. The open loft area offers more sleeping space with queen and full beds and the guest bathroom. Experience the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort where every moment promises relaxation and rejuvenation amidst nature's embraces or go on an adventure and enjoy all the High Country has to offer.
Amenities: Guests of the Lakes Community have access to stocked catch-and-release ponds and a playground and tennis courts in the Seven Devils Community.
Location: This cabin is located in quaint Seven Devils, on the same mountain as Hawksnest Snow Tubing and Ziplining, and centrally located to Boone, Banner Elk, Valle Crucis and Blowing Rock in the Foscoe area. The Seven Devils community offers public basketball and tennis courts along with a children's playground. The convenient location makes it just minutes away from all the High Country’s most famous attractions such as the Blue Ridge Parkway, Tweetsie Railroad, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls and Caverns, and Appalachian State University. If you are looking for winter sports there are several different options from Hawksnest Snow Tubing, Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, Beech Mountain Ski Resort, and Appalachian Ski Resort. Relax and enjoy the slow pace of the mountains and the fresh air or be adventurous and go hiking, fishing, biking, or sight-seeing. Loved the cabin. Your cleaning team could pay a little more attention to the cobwebs, they were everywhere. Also, the master bed was very uncomfortable.

We enjoyed this house and its location. We appreciated that wood was supplied and that it had a pool table. The only suggestions I have is to put weatherstripping on the doors where the pool table is located. It was noticeably cooler on that room and you could feel cold air coming in the doors because there was no weatherstripping. Also, the pots and pans in the kitchen need to be replaced. There was only 1-2 pots and one skillet and they were not good quality.

I rated the kitchen as "somewhat disagree for being well stocked because many other rentals we've stayed in have been better stocked. There wasn't a crock pot, there were only 6 of many things so if you used them once you had to wash before you could eat again. We ate almost all of our meals in so it would have been nice to have a few extra. We ran out of toilet paper and had to go buy more. I think a few small upgrades and extras could go a long way in making it feel extra well stocked! My suggestio

Larger tv in bedroom down stairs would be nice. Large tv difficult to operate and understand controls. Took a while to figure out and I'm very tech savvy. Downstairs mattress toward end of our stay was causing back aches. Maybe a new mattress is in order. Large frying pan clacking off teflon where people have used metal utensils in it. Needs to be replaced as we would not even use it, it was so bad. Love the fireplace and provided wood.

The butterfly bush outside was alive our entire visit! We loved watching all of the butterflies enjoying it in the sunshine. We commented that the cabin should have been named the "Butterfly Cabin":)

This vacation was a celebration of my husband's 70th birthday, my 60th, and our 32nd anniversary. And it didn't disappoint. It truly was a home away from home. Beautiful cabin with a cute bear theme. The Bear Den was cozy, very clean, and we wanted for nothing. We had deer visit us as well as an elk. Peace and quiet is what we were seeking and we got it. We will definitely be back again. Thank you for such a wonderful time and great memories.

Loved the property. We've stayed in this cabin before...so the kitchen updates were a pleasant surprise! You should update the pics on the website! My only complaint...the internet. This cabin has horrible internet...needs better update. People expect internet when renting this cabin, and pay a decent amount for it. Also, a fire pit out back would be a lovely addition, and inexpensive to do! The children would love it...our neighbors had one and it looked fun! Last but not least, the new beds upstairs was a

I normally don't care if the property has good internet connectivity, but our older son is taking summer classes for college and it was a struggle to maintain connectivity for what he was needing to do. He was able to get by and finish but we had to reset the modem and router every day. In a location that has very limited cellular connectivity, it makes online research and trip planning difficult if there isn't a reliable internet connection available. The cabin was adorable - clean, well furnished, cozy and perfect for our family of 4. We appreciated the stocked firewood and the extra blankets as it was quite chilly outside. Our only issues were with the landline not working and most of the outlets didn't work as well (as we tried to charge our phones). We had no way to make any local calls from the cabin as our cell service would not work there. The WiFi did work.

Love the house and area. 2nd visit at property. Good renovation on the kitchen since last visit. Need to have internet service checked. Kept going out on our visit and had to turn on/off the router several times to get it back. May also want to check hot water heater settings. Only had about 10 minutes of hot water available before it went cold. Had to stagger showers. Will likely return to same property in future.

We LOVED the Bear Den! Having traveled from Ft Worth and Garland Texas it was a treat to be in the mountains with the trees, quiet, and fresh air. This property was decorated very cute and the amenities were perfect. We appreciated being able to have much more extra room than in a hotel. We had a fantastic time visiting the area. We will definitely be renting from y'all again when we return in '21. Thanks again!

The cabin was very cozy!! Loved all the lamps...the fire place was wonderful...beds were comfy. Loved the locatin too. It was inconvenient to have to check in at the office and then return the keys...many nice rentals offer a code for the front door. Most rentals ask renters to load and start the dishwasher. I thought it was a lot to wash and put dishes away. I didn't really trust the cleaniness of the dishes/utensils...I washed them well, but if you're in a hurry to make the 10 (too early) checkout it migh

Overall, this was a nice experience and a nice property. There are a couple of issues that we ran into in terms of what is provided in the home. We only had the trash liner in the trash can so once that was full, we were in trouble. Also, I think these homes should have plastic wrap, as that was something we needed that wasn't provided. I also am used to having one or two pots of coffee supplied, which were not present in this house. These are just little things I recognize, but they make a difference bet

1. List on your website for this particular property that you have a grill. We were not sure and this made planning dinners difficult until we arrived and saw that you did in fact have a grill
2. Where were the extra linens? We searched every where for pillowcases. I saw that you had a ton of extra pillows, but I had to go out and buy pillowcases for them during my stay. Very frustrating when it's late at night and I only had one pillow to use and needed an extra

The overall stay was very pleasant. There is a terrible odor coming from the kitchen drains. It would have been nice if chairs were provided on the back deck. For a party of one, the wine glasses were sufficient; however, if there were more people staying, there should be more. I don't mean to be 'picky' but I do think the owners should know these things. Thank you for a really relaxing vacation.

The water in our bathroom and kitchen came out with a yellow rusty color a couple of times. I was lucky my brother had rented at the American Pride cabin because I was able to bathe there and use their water when needed.

The property was great and we enjoyed our stay, but we did have two issues. The home smelled like smoke from the fire place. It was very strong when we checked in and got better by running the ceiling fans and opening the doors, but never really went away. The cabin was clean but it seemed due for a deep cleaning. Some things to note - the dryer has a horrible squeak while operating. The coffee maker that was on the counter leaked. Thankfully there was another coffee maker under the counter. The propane tank for the gas grill was completely empty. A bigger emphasis needs to be put on the fact that the renter is responsible for that. That's a $40 expense that we were not aware of. This policy needs to change. The landscaping is overgrown and the porches need to be swept.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The house was clean and fit our family of 5 perfectly. We enjoyed the wood burning fireplace, the pool table, the neighborhood and overall comfort of the house. We had everything we needed and wanted.
