Description: Sitting “Above It All” in quaint Seven Devil’s, this luxury cabin is missing nothing for a perfect mountain getaway. Overlooking Seven Devil’s Lake (not available for guests) and featuring the famous Grandfather Mountain View (in winter months), this cabin offers two levels of ¾ wrap around decking that is gated for safety of children and pets. So much fun can be had outside roasting s’mores by the fire pit, soaking your troubles away in the hot tub, taking a relaxing nap in the two person hammock, or just taking in the fresh mountain air. Enter through the front door and embrace the beauty of this modern, open floor plan cabin with AC & hardwood flooring throughout. The kitchen/dining/living room areas share a warm floor to ceiling, rock, gas log fireplace. The kitchen features stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, custom cabinetry, an island, and is equipped with everything to prepare a meal. There are three dining tables (one on the main floor, another upstairs in the loft for extra guests and one outside on the upper deck facing Grandfather). The living room is inviting with leather furniture, vaulted ceilings, and mountain views from the many windows. The main floor also features a 1 / 2 bath when you walk through the front door for guest’s convenience as well as the primary bedroom and bathroom. The primary bedroom suite has a king size log bed, flat screen Smart TV, large walk-in closet, double door deck access, and mountain view. The primary bathroom is a retreat in itself with double sinks; jetted soaking tub, level entry, tiled shower, and the washer and dryer. Upstairs, there is another sitting area in the spacious open loft with a large flat screen TV, queen sleeper sofa, and table for dining or playing cards. There are two guest rooms upstairs with a shared bathroom. The first guest room offers a twin daybed over a twin trundle bed and television & the other guest bedroom upstairs offers a queen size log bed, television, and mountain view. Downstairs, features yet another sitting and “play/social area”, large flat screen Smart TV w/surround sound, gas fireplace, and pool table as well as the third guest bedroom and bathroom. The guest bedroom downstairs is perfect for all the young at heart with twin log bunk beds, a child’s library, and puzzles/games for all ages. 

Location: This cabin is located in Seven Devils, on the same mountain as Hawksnest Snow Tubing and Ziplining, and centrally located to Boone, Banner Elk, Valle Crucis and Blowing Rock in the Foscoe area. The Seven Devils community offers public basketball and tennis courts along with a children's playground. The convenient location makes it just minutes away from all the High Country’s most famous attractions such as the Blue Ridge Parkway, Tweetsie Railroad, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls and Caverns, and Appalachian State University.  If you are looking for winter sports there are several different options from Hawksnest Snow Tubing, Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, Beech Mountain Ski Resort, and Appalachian Ski Resort. Relax and enjoy the slow pace of the mountains and the fresh air or be adventurous and go hiking, fishing, biking, or sight-seeing. The house was fine overall. But The living room floor was in bad shape (needs refinishing), the fireplace was in a strange place behind the dining table.
The basement needs better heat, besides portable heaters. It needs an available closet in the basement bedroom, also a double or queen size bed, besides bunk beds in the basement. It needs a full bath in the basement because it had sleeping arrangements down there. (it did have a half bath)

The cabin suited our needs very well. Our only complaints would be the mattresses on the day bed are poor. The pull out has springs that squeak very badly as well. The bunk beds weren't great either but we had kids using it so they didn't care. We didn't use the sofa pull out. The master bdm was great. Could of used more blankets in the upstairs bdms. The leather furniture in the main living area is worn and torn with the stuffing coming out.

After reading reviews from weeks before us we all shared the same concern about the fire pit. Disappointed it was never cleaned up from a fallen tree. Really appreciate the wood that was available to use but fearful of the snakey area surrounding it. Also top bunk had little to no padding and guest was unable to sleep on it. This was also mentioned in earlier reviews. Guest neede to bring in a dehumidifier to help the smell in the basement.

We enjoyed the property over 2 weeks during the Christmas holiday. It was a wonderful stay. The cabin was decorated for Christmas and clean. It is a well used cabin, and the kitchen is stocked with almost everything needed. There are a few things that need addressing, such as a plank in the deck is rotting out and needs replacing, and some of the railing vertical pieces are loose.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Above it All. The home was well maintained and the location was fantastic. We would absolutely stay here again as the layout for two small families worked well. Above it All exceeded expectations for our group. We celebrated a 3 year old birthday, went tubing at Hawksnest, got some skiing in at Sugar Mountain and had easy access to Boone, Blowing Rock, and downtown Banner Elk. This property was as described in the promo material. Beautiful.... It was spacious with beautiful views. It met our needs well as we had a toddler and a small dog. Both loved being able to be safely on the gated main deck. We look forward to coming back to this property in the future.

Property was clean and beautiful. However, the downstairs smelled like moth balls or something similar. The property itself was very nice with plenty of room for our group to spread out. The house and bathrooms were very clean. The house did have lots of Christmas decorations out which was kind of strange. They were just collecting dust. This house is fantastic. There ended up only being 4 of us, so we had more than enough room. We never used the hot tub or jacuzzi. We spent most of our time on the deck. The house was wonderful. Kitchen had everything you could possibly need, which was extra helpful with the COVID-19 restrictions in place limiting us to cooking in. The view is spectacular both of Grandfather Mountain and the lake. So peaceful! The description on the website does not adequately describe the road to the property. A steep paved driveway is not an issue; a steep gravel driveway with ruts in it and part of the road eroding off the side of the mountain is an issue. The notes about the property recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle in winter. Based on our experience in a Honda Odyssey van, an all-wheel drive vehicle is needed in summer.

Above It All was absolutely wonderful and the perfect place for a getaway for my friends and I. The house was so inviting and had so many amenities, such as the hot tub, pool table, and fire pit, that we really didn't even feel like we had to leave to have a good time. The cabin was nice and clean, but I would recommend to wash the blankets, the night was cold and when we tried to used one of them, we rather not! You can see the dirty spots.
However the rest was neat, very clean and very organized! It is a beautiful cabin, We had a great time! Thank you for your service!
